Who We Are
Act Natural Studios is home to the multidisciplinary Visual Storyteller and Creative Writer, Priscilla Uren.
“Welcome to Act Natural Studios — a creative space inspired by the beautifully imperfect idea of “acting natural.” Based in South-East Queensland, Australia, this studio is an extension of my creative eye, heart, and mind, using creative writing and visual storytelling to shine a light on small businesses, local artists, and meaningful causes.
Creativity has always been woven into my life, first nurtured by my late Grandmother. Through music, photography, creative writing, videography, and movement, she taught me how art can bring joy, connection, and healing into the world.
Honouring the gifts she passed down to me, my work is driven by a desire to leave the Earth a little brighter. When you team up with Act Natural Studios, you are supporting Environmental and Wildlife Conservation through creative expression, community, and storytelling.
Let’s create something meaningful together and make a difference along the way.” - Priscilla Uren
The StoryEstablished in 2020, my creative journey began photographing local live performances, including Stand-Up Comedy, Physical Theatre, Sports and Improv. In 2023, I partnered with a close friend at Flair Media Co to capture interviews, presentations, large-scale conferences, and art unveilings — an experience that led me to Pixel Punk and helping local small businesses tell their stories to stand out through authentic visual content.
Alongside photography and videography, I achieved a lifelong dream of becoming a Zoo Keeper and Wildlife Presenter, while continuing to immerse myself in the creative arts through live performance, Physical Theatre, Improv, and a Director’s Internship.
Poetry, journaling, and creative writing have remained at the heart of everything I do. More recently, advances in AI have allowed me to transform my poems into music, opening another avenue for storytelling and emotional connection.
With the experiences that have come hand-in-hand with my journey, I am blessed to be able to help others through a natural healing practice as well.
Like all of us, my road has had hidden potholes that felt deeper than the craters on the moon. But I choose to adventure through life like I’m atop a befriended Grizzly Bear, or roving in a Landcruiser Troopcarrier.
It’s a privilege to be in a position where all of my passions — creativity, conservation and community — can come together to create meaningful work that supports and uplifts others and aids a better future.
